║ ║ 1. Why is ASCII Quest all in text? ║
║ ║ ASCII Quest takes on the roguelike tradition of ║
║ ║ using text characters to represent entities in ║
║ ║ the game. The earliest roguelikes were intended ║
╚═════════════╣ to be played in a text-only console terminal, ║
║ so text was all they could use at the time. It ║
║ is an artifact of the origins of roguelikes, ║
║ but it gives ASCII Quest a retro flavor. ║

║ 2. Will ASCII Quest support graphical tiles? ║
║ Unfortunately, development resources are ║
║ limited, and we don't have the time or the ║
║ means to support graphical tiles. If we decide ║
║ to do a sequel, we'll strongly consider it ║
║ then. ║
║ ║
║ 3. What platforms will ASCII Quest be released ║
║ on? ║
║ Xbox 360, via Xbox LIVE Indie Games. No other ║
║ platforms are planned at this time. ║

║ 4. Do I need/Can I use a Chatpad or USB keyboard ║
║ to play ASCII Quest? ║
║ No (with the exception of character name entry ║
║ at the start of the game). Only the standard ║
║ Xbox 360 controller is supported. Most players ║
║ won't have a Chatpad, and it's a bit of a ║
║ bother to unplug your USB keyboard from your ║
║ computer and plug it into your Xbox 360, so we ║
║ decided to support the common denominator. ║
║ We're hoping that you prefer to use the ║
║ controller in any case, as the interface was ║
║ designed specifically with the Xbox 360 ║
║ controller in mind. ║
║ ║
║ 5. How much will ASCII Quest cost? ║
║ 80 MSP, which is roughly US$1. ║
║ ║
║ 6. How big is ASCII Quest? ║
║ There are four major dungeons, each one having ║
║ 5-7 large levels to explore. Each major dungeon ║
║ also has a boss battle at the bottom floor, ║
║ including an epic final boss fight at the end ║
║ of the final dungeon. In addition, the ║
║ overworld map will have some "mini-dungeons" ║
║ with bonus loot to be plundered, and there are ║
║ four towns that you can visit. ║

║ 7. How many classes are playable in ASCII Quest? ║
║ Five - Alchemist, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, and ║
║ Sorcerer. Each class has its own play style and ║
║ class-specific abilities. For example, the Monk ║
║ can learn different martial styles with combos ║
║ for each successful hit, and the Sorcerer has ║
║ many useful spells to cast. ║

║ 8. How complicated are the gameplay mechanics ║
║ behind ASCII Quest? ║
║ The mechanics are loosely based from a popular ║
║ tabletop RPG system, as permitted by the Open ║
║ Game License. Chances are pretty good you've ║
║ heard or even played this rule system. The ║
║ rules have been vastly simplified for use in a ║
║ video game, but the inspiration for the ║
║ mechanics of ASCII Quest should be obvious. ║
║ Regardless, we hope that everyone, RPG and ║
║ roguelike veterans alike, will find ASCII Quest ║
║ to be a fun experience. ║

║ 9. When will ASCII Quest be released? ║
║ We've slipped our previously announced release ║
║ dates several times, so let's just say that it ║
║ will be done "soon". A more specific release ║
║ date window will be announced when the game is ║
║ nearly finished. ║
